Federal Judge Limits Ice Ability to Arrest Without Warrants

A Federal Judge has Extended the 2022 CastaƱon Nava Consent Decree, which Limits Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)'s ability to Arrest without Warrants, until February 2nd, 2026.

This Ruling follows a Series of Warrantless Arrests by ICE, and aims to Protect Individuals from Unconstitutional Detentions.

The Judge's Decision emphasizes the Constitutional Violations that ICE's Operations have caused, particularly during the Early Days of the Trump (R) Administration.

The Consent Decree requires ICE to lift Conditions of Release, Reissue the Nava Warrantless Arrest Policy Nationwide, and ensure that All Officers have been Retrained.

Additionally, ICE must provide the Names, Numbers, and Arrest Documents for All Individuals Arrested without Warrants since June, in the Northern District of Illinois.

This Ruling is a Significant Step in the ongoing Legal Battle against ICE's Practices, and aims to provide Relief to those Affected by Warrantless Arrests.
