Illegal Border Crossings Plummeted

Illegal Border Crossings at the U.S.-Mexico Border, have now reached their Lowest Point since August 2020, when Trump was President and the COVID-19 Pandemic had vastly lowered the Number of Arrivals. An 80% Drop in Migrant Releases into the Country, since President Biden’s Crackdown on Asylum took effect this Summer.

Trump cited recently Released Homeland Security Statistics indicating that 13,099 Migrants have been Convicted of Murder but are Not in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Custody. What they don’t mention is that many of these People are Not in ICE Ccustody because they’re in Prison.

They also gloss over the Fact that the ICE Data, tracking Seven million People with pending Immigrant Cases, span Four Decades, not the Three and a half years that Biden has been in Ooffice. Also never mentioned the Fact that Immigrants actually Commit Crimes at Lower Rates than U.S. Citizens.

After Trump put out the Word this Spring to Republicans to Kill the Bipartisan Border Compromise, the One that, according to Acting U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Chief Troy Miller, “would provide the strongest set of tools we have had in decades to effectively manage migration and enhance our nation’s border security”.

In June, Biden Signed an Executive Order that Disqualified most Illegal Border Crossers from Asylum. That Policy has since been Strengthened, and Harris has Vowed to make it even more Difficult to Lift the Restrictions.

In September, U.S. Border Patrol Agents apprehended just under 54,000 Migrants who Crossed into the U.S. Illegally. It was the Third month in a row, that Border Apprehensions tallied No more than 58,000, dramatically down from a Record Hhgh 250,000 Apprehensions in December, 2023. Homeland Security (DHS) Reports an 80% Drop in Releases into the U.S. ofMmigrants Apprehended at the Border.

Roughly 70% of Migrant Single Adults and Families, have been Removed from the Country since Biden’s Crackdown began, according to DHS. That’s compared to 28% from May 2023 to May 2024. The Asylum Restrictions don’t apply to Unaccompanied Children or those with Acute Medical Conditions.

DHS Reports that the Number of People sent Packing over the Last Fiscal year, since the End of Title 42 Public Health Restrictions, exceeded Removals and Returns in any year since 2010.
