IN Rep. Greg Pence Will Not Seek Reelection

Indiana Rep. Greg Pence (R-6th District), the Brother of former Vice President Mike Pence, said Tuesday He will Not Run for Re-Election in November.

“In 2017, I ran for Congress because I was ready to serve again. As a former Marine Officer, I approached the job with purpose,” Greg Pence said in a Statement. “After three terms, I’ve made the decision to not file for reelection.”

Pence, said He would serve out the Remainder of His Term this year. His Departure will mark the End of nearly a quarter-century of Public Service by the Pence Family.

Another Indiana Congressman, Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-8th District), announced Monday He also would Not be seeking Re-Election in November, and will Retire after Seven Terms in Congress.

So far, more than Three Dozen House Members, 22 Democrats and 17 Republicans, have announced they will Not seek Re-Election in November, either because they are Retiring or Seeking other Office.

The Vacancies are contributing to a Competitive Election-year Fight, to determine Who will Control the Chamber next year.

With 220 Republicans and 213 Democrats in the House, the GOP holds a Slim Majority, that risks becoming even Narrower in the Short Term: A Special Election scheduled for Feb. 13th, will determine who will fill the Seat for former Congressman George Santos (R-NY, 3rd District), who was Expelled from Congress last month.

A May 21st Special Election, will determine who will fill the Seat for former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA, 20th District), who Retired last month.
