House Members Not Running For Their Seat In 2024


Fourteen U.S. House Members have announced they will Not run for Re-Election in 2024.

On Sept. 18th, U.S. Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-VA, 10th District) became the 14th U.S. House Member, Not to seek Re-Election in 2024. Wexton has been in this Seat since 2019. Wexton is Retiring from Public Office following a Medical Diagnosis.

Including Wexton, 20 Members of Congress, Six Senators, and 14 Representatives, have announced they will Not seek Re-Election next year. This includes 14 Democrats, Four in the Senate, and 10 in the House, as well as Six Republicans, Two Senators, and Four House Members.

Ten of the 14 U.S. House Members not running for Re-Election, Eight Democrats and Two Republicans, are running for the U.S. Senate. These Members include Seven running for the Open Seats in: California, Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, and Indiana:

Reps. Barbara Lee (D-CA, 12th District), Katie Porter (D-CA, 47th District), and Adam Schiff (D-CA, 30th District), are running to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) in California.

Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE, At-Large) is running to replace Sen. Tom Carper (D) in Delaware.

Rep. David Trone (D-MD, 6th District) is running to replace Sen. Ben Cardin (D) in Maryland.

Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI, 7th District) is running to replace Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D) in Michigan.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN, 3rd District) is running to replace Sen. Mike Braun (R) in Indiana.

Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV, 2nd District) is running against Sen. Joe Manchin (D) in West Virginia.

Rep. Rubén Gallego (D-AZ, 3rd District) is running against Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I) in Arizona.

Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX, 32nd District) is running against Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in Texas.

Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC, 8th District) is running for Attorney General.

Reps. Victoria Spartz (R-IN, 5th District) and Grace Napolitano (D-CA, 32nd District) are the only other House Incumbents to have announced their Retirements from Public Office.
