In a bid to raise New York City’s Profile as a Global Tech Hub, Mayor Eric Adams (D) this month, converted his First Paycheck into Cryptocurrency.
The same week, the Mayor combined Dozens of Governmentwide I.T. Systems, naming Matt Fraser, a former Deputy Commissioner for Information Technology at the New York Police Department, as the City CTO.
Mr. Fraser spoke about the Role Tech can play in addressing broader Issues facing the City.
"Technology is an enabler and the needs of technology should be driven by the needs of New Yorkers," Mr. Fraser said.
"Before we can innovate, we must first make sure we are providing easy access to essential city services to the people most dependent on those services. That means democratizing access to NYC government and bridging the technology divide that plagues the most disenfranchised New Yorkers."
