NY Region Imposes Quarantine Mandate Update

New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut will Impose Quarantines on Outside, and Returning Citizen, Travelers from States with High Coronavirus Infection Rates, a Sweeping Restriction that Initially Applies to some 40% of the Nation’s Population.

Seeking to shield their States’ Recovery Gains from Outbreaks elsewhere, said All Travelers from States that meet Specific Health Metrics must immediately enter a 14-day Quarantine upon Arrival in Any of the Three States.

Current States are: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Utah and Texas. Most recent Census estimates for the Nine States add up to about 92 million People.

The Three States’ Restrictions will Apply to States with Infection Rates that Exceed 10 People per 100,000 on a Seven-day Rolling Average, or if 10% of the Total Population Tests Positive on a Seven-day Rolling Average.

Anyone found Out-of-Compliance will be subject to a Judicial Order and a Mandatory Quarantine. Fines can range from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on whether it is the First Offense and if Harm is Caused.

It remains unclear how the States will Monitor Travelers and Enforce the Rules. Each Individual State will Devise its Own Approach to doing so.
