Senator Warren’s new bill, Tax Filing Simplification Act, directs the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to create a free, online system where you can file your tax returns directly with the Federal government.

Senator Warren is fighting for:
- The nearly 20% of low-income Americans who do not receive their Earned Income Tax Credit because of an incorrectly filed report.
- To ensure that nearly 10% of our Federal tax returns don’t have to go to a tax preparation service such as Intuit's Turbo Tax.
Between 2011 and 2015, Intuit spent $13 million lobbying Congress to oppose simple, free tax filing.
