Today, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the bill to allow lever voting machines for the 2013 Primary on September 10, 2013 and added a week for possible runoffs to October 1, 2013.
In a memorandum filed by the governor, he wrote: "I strongly believe the use of lever voting machines is a poor solution to the Board's concerns." adding, "Nevertheless, circumstances require that I sign the bill into law."
