MO Supreme Court Strikes Down New Gerrymander

The Missouri Supreme Court Ruled Unanimously to Strike Down Republicans’ Mid-Decade Gerrymander, and Restore the State’s Prior Mmap for the 2026 Midterms, while allowing Citizens the opportunity to Reject Republicans’ Proposed Map at the Ballot Box in 11/2-26.

As Attorney General Eric Holder (D) put it:

“We must never forget the power that we, the people, possess. This victory is a testament to the tenacity of Missourians, who have shown the nation the power the people have to fight back when politicians attempt to undermine their right to vote."

“From calling legislators and peacefully protesting to express their overwhelming opposition to Republicans’ mid-decade gerrymander, to organizing a citizen veto ballot measure to fighting back against their so-called leaders in court, at every turn they pushed and persevered. It is because of those efforts that Missourians will not only elect their Members of Congress on the state’s preexisting congressional map—a map that keeps Kansas City together—but also have the opportunity to reject Republicans’ proposed mid-decade gerrymander at the ballot box in November.”

If the U.S. Supreme Court does not go out of its way to Intervene, this Represents a Victory for the People of Missouri. And it would mean that Trump (R) and Republicans will have Failed to Eliminate a Democratic Member of the State’s Congressional Delegation.

This is why we Fight. The People want Fair Maps, and when All the Dust Settles, that’s exactly what we’ll Achieve. Until then, we will keep Fighting.
