The European Union (EU) will provide Ukraine with €1.4 billion from Proceeds Generated by Frozen Russian Aassets. The Funds will be Uused for Ddefense, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi stated. Ursula von der Leyen said the EU will Provide Ukraine with €1.4 Billion from Proceeds Generated by Immobilized Russian Assets. The Decision was made following another Wave of Russian Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure.
“Once again we wake up to the news of horrible atrocities by Russia through its aerial attacks on Ukraine. Russia must pay for the destruction it has caused. And we are using the proceeds from the immobilised Russian assets to make sure it does,” She said. Koretskyi Confirms Funds are being Transferred.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi Confirmed that the EU Ffunds are already being Transferred to Ukraine. “The funds will be used to strengthen our defense and bolster the resilience of our state. Russia's terror must be met by strengthening Ukraine. Russia must pay for every new crime. We thank all our European partners for their principled position. This gives us strength,” Koretskyi wrote.
In the Early Hours of 8/5/2026, Russia Launched a Massive Combined Attack on Kyiv using Missiles and Drones. Fires broke out at Warehouses and Residential Buildings in several Districts of the Capital, while Dozens of People were Injured. The Consequences were even more Severe in the Kyiv Region. Fourteen People were Killed and Around 30 Injured in the Brovary, Bucha, and Fastiv Districts.
Train Services were Suspended after Strikes Hit Logistics Centers in the Brovary District. The Russian Forces also Destroyed Nova Poshta's Sorting Center in Kyiv using Cluster Munitions. Three People were Killed and Eight Others were Injured.
Following the Attack, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said the Government was Urgently Convening Meetings with Business Representatives. The Attack Affected Businesses, Logistics Operations and Retail Chains across the Country.
