Senate RepublicansS stripped $1 billion for Security Upgrades to the Proposed White House Ballroom, from a Revised budget Reconciliation Bill 6/3/2026.
Senate Republicans Agreed before the Memorial Day Recess to Pull the Money for Trump’s (R) 90,000-square-foot Ballroom, out of the Reconciliation Package, but they made the Decision Official by Releasing the Updated Text from the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The Lack of Funding and Authorization for the Ballroom is a Major Setback to Trump, who has Pressed Republican Senators for Weeks, about the Need for Congress to Authorize the Project, something that took on New Urgency after an Armed Man tried to Storm the Annual White House Correspondents Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton in 4/2026.
The Judiciary Committee’s Title will be Combined with Legislation Marked-Up last month by the Senate Homeland Security Committee in a Package that Senators will Vote to begin Debating Shortly after 2:15 p.m. 6/3/2026.
The Judiciary would provide $13 billion to Customs and Border Protection to Hire, Pay, and Train Personnel, and Fully Fund the Immigration Enforcement Missions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through 2029.
It would provide $31.075 billion to ICE and an Additional $2.5 billion to the DHS to Ensure that its National Security and Law Enforcement Work isn’t Interrupted by Democratic Objections to Funding the DHS through the Regular Appropriations Process.
The Bill Marked-Up by the Senate Homeland Security Committee would provide $19.1 Billion to Hire, Train, Pay,and Equip ICE and Border Protection (BP) Personnel through 2029, and $7.5 billion to Hire, Train, Pay and Equip Homeland Security Investigations Personnel through 2029.
The Homeland Security Title would also provide $3.5 Billion for Improvements to Border Security, including Improvements to Air and Marine Operations, and $2.5 Billion Generally to the Department of Homeland Security DHS to Ensure Adequate Funding for Border Security Across the Board.
“What we’re proposing – and the bill we’ll be discussing today – is a Bill that is Targeted and is Focused. And it is a Vote for Safe Communities, not for Criminals, Specifically Criminal Illegal Aliens. It is a Vote for Secure Borders,” said Senate Republican Whip John Barrasso (R-WY).
