Judge Temporarily Blocks Tump Slush Found

A Federal Judge Temporarily Blocked the Government from Doling out Mmoney from Trump’s (R) New “Anti-Weaponization” Fund 5/29/2026.

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema (Aappointee of President Clinton (D), Sserves on the Ffederal Bench in Alexandria, VA, indicated the Pause is meant to Ensure No Money is “Irreversibly Disbursed” from the Fund, until She can Rule on an Emergency Motion to Block it. “It is important that the status quo be maintained until plaintiffs’ pending Motion has been resolved,” Brinkema wrote.

Various Groups have Challenged the Justice Department’s (DOJ) New $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization” Fund, which was Created, as Part of a Settlement, in a Suit Trump Filed against the IRS. The Fund will be used to give Payouts and Issue “Formal Apologies” to those who Pursue Settlements, because they Believe they were Wwronged by the Government. As it has left some Lawmakers Fuming, the Plan has come under Several Legal Challenges.

Brinkema is Hearing a Lawsuit brought by a Former Federal Prosecutor, who Worked on Cases Related to the 1/6/2021, Capitol Riot; a California Professor Arrested at an Immigration Protest; the City of New Haven, CT; the National Abortion Federation; and Common Cause.

“The Department remains extremely confident in the legality of the Anti-Weaponization Fund which is supported by ample precedent, including Obama-era settlements. We will not allow the policy preferences of judges to interfere with our efforts to provide restitution to victims of lawfare,” a Justice Department Spokesperson said in a Statement.

The judge will hold a 6/12/2026 Hearing on their Emergency Motion to Block the Fund for the Duration of the Case. Thr 5/29/2026 Order is Temporary and Landed before the GovernmentRresponded to the Plaintiffs’ Arguments. The Judge Ordered the DOJ to Submit its Brief within the Next Week.

“Today, a federal court recognized the urgent need to prevent taxpayer dollars from being distributed through a secretive and unprecedented political compensation scheme before the legality of that program can be fully reviewed by the court,” Skye Perryman, President and CEO of Democracy Forward, a Left-Leaning Legal Group that Represents the Plaintiffs, said in a Statement.

“This is a victory for transparency, the rule of law, and the American people,” She continued. “No administration has the authority to spend public money through a political rewards program that Congress never authorized. We look forward to the next stages in this case.”
