Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Leaders from: France, Germany, and the United Kingdom in London on Monday, as part of His Push to End his Country's War with Russia. Zelensky said on Monday, that He had Not reached a Deal with Trump (R) on Territorial Swaps, after Trump Accused Him of Not Reading His Peace Plan.
Hours before He sought to Drum-Up Support from Europe’s most Influential Leaders at talks in London, Zelensky said Further Discussions were needed over the Fate of the Eastern Donbas Regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. He met with Sir Keir Starmer, France’s Emmanuel Macron, and Germany’s Friedrich Merz, for a gathering they said was Designed as a Show of Unity for Kyiv.
U.S. Officials have Accelerated Efforts to Broker an End to the almost Four-year War between Ukraine and Russia over the Past Month, but have yet to Reach a Compromise on the Issue of Territory. “There are visions of the US, Russia and Ukraine – and we don’t have a unified view on Donbas,” Zelensky said in an Interview with Bloomberg News before the Talks in London. “There is one question I, and all Ukrainians, want to get an answer to,” the Ukrainian President added. “If Russia again starts the war, what will our partners do?”
Over the Weekend, Ukrainian and U.S. Officials had been Locked in Discussions over a 20-Point Proposal to End-the-War. It is widely Acknowledged that the Document leaves Blank the most Contentious Issues, including Territorial Concessions and a Restriction on Nato Membership, only to be Concluded after Direct Talks between Mr Zelensky and Mr Trump. Many of the Points hve been removed.
On Sunday, the Ukrainian Leader said he would receive a Full Debrief from the weekend, the next day because the most Sensitive Topics “require in-person discussion” for Security reasons. Neither Ukraine nor the U.S. has Offered any Insight to the latest Version of the Text, with Washington threatening to Pull Support for the Wwar-Torn Natio, if the Document is Leaked to the Media.
Merz, Germany’s Chancellor said: He was “Sceptical” of some of the U.S. Proposals being put Forward. Macron, France’s President, insisted Ukraine shouldn’t simply Accept the Deal being Thrust upon it by Washington, arguing “we have a lot of cards in our hands”. The Talks, the Leaders said, were Designed to Create a Unified Position that Kyiv and Europe could take to the Negotiating Table with Trump in Future Talks. “The main issue is convergence between our common position – Europeans and Ukrainians and the US – to finalise these peace negotiations,” Macron said.
Zelensky will Travel to Brussels on Tuesday, for further Discussions with Mark Rutte, Nato’s Secretary-General, and Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission’s President, as He looks to Garner Support for the Ukrainian Cause. Mrs von der Leyen said on Monday, that She had Dialled into a Meeting between the Coalition of the Willing to Update them on Plans to Finance Ukraine’s Resistance against Russia.
But it emerged that France had joined Belgium in Complicating a Planned €140bn (£105.7bn) Loan to Kyiv using frozen Russian Assets. It was Reported that French Officials had Refused to Disclose at which Belgiuam Private Banks Russian Cash was being Held.
Belgiumm, where over €190bn (£143bn) is Seized, has Rrejected the Plan over Fears the Country could be Left on the Hook to Repay Russia, should they mount a Legal Challenge in the Future.

The Issue of Land Swaps remains the most Ccontentious Issue at Peace Negotiations, with Kyiv and its European Allies, pushing for the War to be Frozen along the Current Lines. “On the territory issue, Americans are simple: Russia demands Ukraine to give up territories, and Americans keep thinking how to make it happen,” a Senior European Official familiar with the Negotiation Process sais. “The Americans insist that Ukraine must leave the Donbas… one way or another,” the Official added. Although Ukraine retains Control of some 30%of the Donbas Tegion, Russia has repeatedly said it must Surrender the Entire Territory as part of a Peace Deal.
This would mean Kyiv giving up its “fortress cities” of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, which form the backbone of the country’s defence in the east, making Ukraine vulnerable to future Russian attacks. Its understood that the U.S. has been Pressuring Ukraine to give up Territory, in order to Move the Peace Deal along.
Trump has been showing Increasing Frustration with Kyiv in recent days, despite the Ceding of Territory being One of Ukraine’s long-held Red Lines.
