Democrats on Tuesday, Flipped a Georgia House Seat in a Red Leaning District, delivering the Party another Notable Win heading into 2026 Midterms.
Eric Gisler (D-121 District) was projected to Defeat Mack Guest IV (R) in the Special Election.
Gisler’s Victory is a Major Upset, as Trump (R) Won the District in 2024 by 12 Points.
Democrats were hopeful they could Score an Upset after Overperforming in a recent Tennessee Special Election. They also Flipped Two Seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission in November, sending Shockwaves through the State’s Political Circles.
Victories will put more Wind in the Party’s Sails, as they look toward 2026 Midterms, where they’re hoping that an Energized Voter Base and a Messaging emphasizing Affordability will Help them Flip the House, and Potentially the Senate.
House Democrats add 5 Seats to their 2026 Battleground Target List. The Campaign arm is adding Five Seats to its 2026 Offensive Battleground Target List as recent Election Wins have made the Party feel increasingly Bullish about 2026 Midterms.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is adding California’s 48th Congressional District, Florida’s 15th Congressional District, North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District, and 11th Congressional District, and Texas’ 35th Congressional District. Overall, the DCCC has 40 Target Pickup Opportunities for 2026.
“The DCCC is confident we can win anywhere, and we are full speed ahead while Republicans are running scared,” DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene (D-WA) said in a Statement. “House Democrats have the better message, stronger candidates, and as the data shows, the American people are on our side.”
