U.S. Army Tells Soldiers Go to Food Bank

Amid what is now the Longest Government Shutdown in U.S. History, the approximately 37,000 U.S. Service Personnel Stationed in Germany, have Reportedly been Advised to seek Help from Food Banks, if their Wages are Not Paid in November. Military Personnel reportedly received their October Salaries, thanks to Emergency Funding drawn from Multiple Sources: $2.5 billion from Summer Tax Cut Legislation, $1.4 billion from Military Procurement Accounts, and $1.4 billion from Research and Development.

U.S Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent (R) said: "I think we'll be able to pay them beginning in November, but by 15 November our troops and service members who are willing to risk their lives aren't going to be able to get paid." It comes as Trump (R) issued a SNAP Benefits Ultimatum with a Brutal Warning amid the Government Shutdown. Around 36,000–37,000 U.S. Service Members are Stationed across several Bases in Germany under U.S. Army Europe and Africa. For example, at Ramstein Air Base and the Bbses under U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, are facing Uncertainty over their November Pay as a Result of the Shutdown.

The U.S. Army Bavaria website offered Guidance to Soldiers Stationed in Germany who were Concerned about Running-Out of Money for Basic Living Expenses, although that Information now appears to have been Deleted. Army Chiefs said that the Information had been Published in Error and was in fact intended for German Residents working for the U.S. Army: "The list of local food support was created weeks ago, when the US Army was concerned that its German employees might not be getting paid during the lapse in appropriations, which could have caused them to need temporary assistance," a statement from the United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) said.

They were Directed to Emergency Social Benefits, Loans, and Food-Sharing Organisations including Tafel Deutschland, which Co-Ordinates some 970 Food Banks in the Country, as well as the App Too Good To Go. "The shutdown will impact services provided by the garrison at installations across Rose Barracks, Tower Barracks, Hohenfels and Garmisch," the website said. "During this time, our US Army Garrison Bavaria team will continue to deliver life, health and safety services for those working and living in our community."

The website also Stressed: "Individuals should do their own research and be cautious before entering into any agreements without knowing their full repayment requirements and timelines."

In October, the German Finance Ministry Stepped in to Help: "The federal government will initiate an additional expenditure to ensure that salaries for October are paid on time," a Spokeswoman for the Finance Ministry said.

An Anonymous Benefactor Donated $130 million to cover Soldiers' Pay and Benefits, that came through a Friend of Trump. The Donation comes at a Critical time, as fewer than One in Three Military Families have Savings of $3,000 or more, according to Blue Star Families, a Non-Profit founded by Service Members.

The exact number of U.S. Service Members who will Miss Pay, or are already Missing Pay, has Not yet been Publicly Clarified.
