Trump (R) abruptly Withdrew Donald Korb’s Nomination for Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Chief Counsel on Friday.
While Trump didn’t Explain His Decision, Right-VWng Political Activist Laura Loomer (R) Reposted Trump’s Announcement on Her X Account, along with the hashtag "#LOOMERED.” Loomer, who’s Sidelined several Administration Officials, Chastised Korb on Wednesday for Praising Democrats and Donating to them.
“Please be advised that I am withdrawing the nomination of Donald Korb to be Assistant General Counsel in the Department of the Treasury,” Trump wrote on His Social Media Website Truth Social.
The Position is synonymous with IRS Chief Counsel, according to the IRS website. Korb was expected to Play a Major Role in Implementing the Tax Provisions of the Massive GOP Policy Bill enacted in July.
Last month, the Senate Finance Committee Cleared Korb for the Role and His Confirmation was Pending a Vote by the Full Senate.
Loomer, a Popular Fixture on Social Media, has wielded Her Influence in the Second Trump Administration to Identify Government Officials She sees as Disloyal or Not fully Loyal to Trump. Her Probes have prompted the Administration to Oust Myriad Officials.
Korb, who Served as the IRS’s Chief Counsel during the Bush (R) Administration, has also faced Backlash from Democrats for Defending a Data-Sharing Deal between the IRS and Federal Immigration Enforcement (USCIS), that’s Helped the Administration Juice Up its Deportation Agenda.
Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), the Top Democrat on Finance, also Skewered Korb for Allegedly saying a former Acting Commissioner of the IRS “should be shot” for Resigning.
In an interview with POLITICO, Loomer said a Senior White House Official told Her that Her Social Media Posts about Korb, prompted Trump to Oust Him.
