NATO Countries Alleged Russian Drone Violations

In response to a series of Drone Incidents that Disrupted Denmark's Airspace last week, approximately 75 Soldiers, a Warship, and other Military Resources are being Deployed to the Country. This move is intended to Strengthen Denmark's Aerial Defenses Ahead of Two Major Summits taking place in Copenhagen this week.

France, Germany, and Sweden, are All Contributing to this Effort. Last week, numerous Airports in Denmark, including Copenhagen Airport, were Thrown into Chaos due to Drone Sightings. The Airport was Forced to Shut-Down for Four Hours last Monday.

Other Danish Airports, as well as Oslo Airport in Norway, also had to Halt Operations due to these Sightings. Drones were even Spotted over Danish Military Sites on Saturday. The concerns have led to Denmark urgently Calling-Up Soldiers following the Incidents.

As a Result of these Incidents, the Danish Government has decided to Close its Airspace to Civilian Drones this week. This Decision comes just before the European Council Meeting in Copenhagen on Wednesday, and additional Military Support has been called in.

France has Confirmed that it has sent 35 Troops, a Helicopter, and "Active Counter-Drone Assets" to Denmark. According to the Paris Defense Ministry, this Deployment is a response to the recent surge in unidentified drone flights in Danish airspace, which they described as a "serious threat".

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that His Country is Supporting Denmark with "military anti-drone capabilities" for the Summit. He also mentioned that "a handful of powerful radar systems" have been Loaned to Copenhagen. A German Frigate has already Docked in the Danish Capital, to Assist with Airspace Surveillance.

A Berlin Official announced on Monday, that Approximately 40 German Soldiers are being Deployed to "provide support in the detection, identification, and defense against drones".

In response to the Drone Disruption in Denmark, NATO has bolstered its Mission in the Baltic Sea. Denmark, which currently holds the Rotating Presidency of the EU Council, is Scheduled to Host a Meeting of the European Political Community in Copenhagen this Thursday.

Last week, the Country's Defense Minister labeled the Drone Incidents as a "Hybrid Attack". Troels Lund Poulsen, Speaking last Thursday, suggested that a "Professional Actor" was Orchestrating the "Systematic" Flights. Just Days prior, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen Hinted at Russia's potential Involvement in the Incident at Copenhagen Airport.

An ongoing Investigation is Underway to determine who is Responsible for the Sightings, with Russia Denying any Participation.

This follows Incidents earlier this month, where Russian Fighter Jets and around 20 Drones breached Estonian and Polish Airspace respectively.

Romania has also Reported an Intrusion by a Russian Drone in recent weeks.
