A Spokesperson for Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R) Confirmed the Governor Declined a Preliminary Inquiry from the Federal Government, to Deploy the Vermont National Guard to Washington, D.C. in Support of Trump's (R) efforts to Combat a "cCime Emergency" in the Capital.
A Preliminary Inquiry is a Step, Prior to a Formal Request from the Government.
Chief of Staff Jason Gibbs (R) said "a few dozen" Soldiers from Vermont would likely have gone to the Nation's Capital, if Scott had Not Declined the Request.
He went on to say that Scott, and a Majority of Vermonters, do Not feel that Deploying the VT National Guard to D.C. in this Instance would be an Acceptable or Appropriate use of their Forces.
Scott also Denied a Request from the Federal Government, to Deploy the National Guard to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents at Detention Facilities in the State.
The Trump Administration is facing a Lawsuit from the Attorney General of the District of Columbia, that Challenges the President's Order to Deploy the National Guard and Federal Agents in the City.
The Lawsuit also Challenges Attorney General Pam Bondi's (R) Order on Thursday, claiming Federal Control of the D.C. Police Force.
