Trump Suffers Legal Blow Over TPS Policy

U.S. District Court Judge Trina Thompson (D), has Blocked Trump’s (R) attempt to End Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nationals from: Honduras, Nepal, and Nicaragua. Critics have Argued that the Policy promoted Harmful Stereotypes and Racial Bias toward the Immigrant Communities. Thompson Accused the Trump Administration of "Racial Animus" based on their Statements regarding Criminal Migrants.

Thompson said She "shares" the "concern" of those Suing the Trump Administration over the President's Ability to End TPS at His Discretion.

Thompson Condemned Officials’ Derogatory Language and Accused the Trump Administration of fostering Racial Stereotypes.

Thompson wrote, "The emancipation of slaves saw the same pattern, but in reverse. Many whites were uncomfortable with the idea of free non-white people in their communities, even if they had lived in the United States for generations."

Thompson’s Opinion aligns with Earlier Rulings by Judge Edward Chen, who Criticized Racially Charged Rhetoric surrounding TPS for Venezuelans. District Judge William Young previously called the Administration’s Actions Unprecedented Racial Discrimination.

Young stated, "I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable." He added, "I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this."

Although Lower Courts have often Ruled against Trump’s Immigration Policies, the Supreme Court has Permitted some to Advance, usually over Dissent from Liberal Justices.
