Trump Pulls Visas for 6,000 Students

Over 6,000 International Students had their Visas Pulled in 2025 by the Trump (R) Administration, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) Confirmed Monday. The Visas were pulled for Various Reasons, including: Overstays, Law Violations, and Supporting Terrorism.

In April, the Administration announced it had already Yanked 1,000 Student Visas.

Student Visas became an Early Target for the Trump Administration's Crackdown on Ommigration, with the White House arguing that Many of the Immigrants had Promoted an Ideology that went against U.S. Foreign Policy. The moves to Revoke Visas and Legal Status have faced Multiple Court Challenges.

The Trump Administration previously Stated that it would Revoke Visas for Foreign Students Linked to what it calls Pro-Hamas Activities, including Involvement in Campus Protests and Distributing Materials such as Flyers.

Many of the Student Visas Revoked since January, were down to Visa Overstays or Encounters with Law Enforcement, with DUIs, Burglaries, and Alleged Support for Terrorism among the Reasons.

Out of the 6,000 revoked Visas, between 200 and 300 People allegedly had raised Funds for Hamas, which is Designated a Terrorist Group by the U.S., a DOS Official Confirmed, around 4,000 had Broken-the-Law.

Secretary-of-State Marco Rubio (R) has Relied on a Little-Used Law that allowsHhis Department to Withdraw Legal Status for those deemed to hold Views that go against U.S. Foreign Policy namely, the Country's Support for Israel in Gaza.

Several Students Targeted by the Trump Administration have been seen to Participate in College Campus Protests in Support of Palestinians, since October 2023. However, several Others were Not Linked to these Activities and instead saw their Visas Revoked over Minor Criminal Offenses or Interactions with Law Enforcement.

Visa Overstays are also a Big focus for the Current Administration. While some Immigrants who Overstayed their Visa Terms may have seen some Leniency in the Past, that is often No longer the Case.

A State Department Spokesperson said on Fox News Digital: "Every single student visa revoked under the Trump Administration has happened because the individual has either broken the law or expressed support for terrorism while in the United States. About 4,000 visas alone have been revoked because these visitors broke the law while visiting our country, including records of assault and DUIs."

Changes to the U.S. Immigration system continue to be made by the Trump Administration, with Proposed Cuts to Foreign Exchange Programs among the latest Moves. Meanwhile, more International Students are Choosing to go to College in Countries other than the U.S. over Concerns around the current Approach.
