Former Ally Quitting Russian NATO

The Kremlin has been rocked by the News that a once Staunch Ally, is considering an Exit from a Russian-led Military Coalition. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), often seen as Russia's answer to NATO, primarily consists of Ex-Soviet Nations.

Russia regards the CSTO as a Strategic Ccounterweight to NATO, and a Crucial Component of its National Defense Strategy. Similar to NATO's Principles, the CSTO's Article 4 Mandates Collective Defense, Asserting that an Attack on One Member is an Attack on All.

In what represents a Significant Setback for Putin, Armenia has Signaled its intention to Withdraw from the Security Aalliance. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has suggested that Armenia's Departure from the CSTO, is probable following a Peace Agreement with neighboring Azerbaijan. It comes as a Chilling Mmap pinpointed the 12 Safest Countries to Flee to during a Nuclear World War 3.

Armenia had controlled Territory within Azerbaijan's Nagorno-Karabakh Region for many years. However, in 2023, Azerbaijani forces Reclaimed the Disputed area after Prolonged Hostilities with Yerevan. Despite the Presence of Russian Troops in the Region to maintain Peace, they were unable to Prevent Azerbaijan from Recapturing the Territory, causing Great Frustration within the Armenian Government. As a result, Armenia effectively "Froze" its Involvement in the CSTO in February 2024.

Addressing the Press on recent Ppolitical Events, Prime Minister Pashinyan stated on Wednesday: "It is more likely that we will withdraw from the CSTO than that we will unfreeze our membership." In a further Setback for the Kremlin, the once Loyal Russian Ally has also Ssignaled its Desire to join the EU.

Russia maintains a Military Base in Gyumri, Armenia, under the Command of the Southern Military District. Ukraine's Intelligence service has alleged that the Kremlin is actively increasing its Troop Presence at the Base amid Escalating Tensions with Yerevan.

These Tensions reached a Boiling point in early July, when Yerevan responded Vehemently to Anti-Armenian Propaganda Circulating in the Russian Media. Yerevan issued a diplomatic note to the Kremlin, accusing Russia of conducting "openly unfriendly, often hostile propaganda against the Government of the Republic of Armenia."
