Trump's (R) Anti-Voting Executive Order has sent Lawmakers, Election Officials, and Voting Rights Advocates into a Frenzy. One Provision focuses on a Goal that for years has been a Borderline Obsession for MAGA: Cracking down on Voting-by-Mail. For Background: After every Election in which He's been a Candidate or in Power, Trump has raged over the use of Mail-in-Ballots in General and Ballot Deadlines in particular. He's tried to Claim Fraud for every Single Ballot Counted after Election Day.
So of course, this Order Directs Attorney General Pam Bondi (R) to “take all necessary action” against any States that Count Absentee or Mail-in- Ballots received after Election Day. This Order makes it clear that the MAGA Crew will do anything they can to Codify their Power Permanently and Silence the Will-of-the-People by Suppressing and Eliminating the Votes we Cast. We all know that Mail-in-Voting Laws are about Ballot Accessibility, making it easier for Voters to Participate in our Elections. Elderly Voters, the Disabled, our Military Service Members, they All Vote-by-Mail.
Mail-in-Voting dates back to the Civil War. It's always been Safe and Secure, Mail-in-Voting Fraud is Supremely Rare. States have spent Millions of Taxpayer Dollars Investigating Voter Fraud since 2020's "Big Lie" and found Virtually Nothing. It's been used widely in some States for Decades and in most of the Country since the Pandemic.
VoteAmerica said: “There is no good-faith reason to limit vote-by-mail access, reject ballots without postmarks, or refuse to count ballots that arrive after Election Day. If the administration moves forward with these proposals, they will effectively disenfranchise older voters, rural voters, and military voters.”
Opponents of Voting Rights have proven they'll go to any length necessary to Stop People from Voting and make sure that they stay in Power.
the votes of some Continental Army soldiers were presented in writing “as if the men were present themselves” in Hollis, N.H., in 1775 during the American Revolution.
But it was during the Civil War that America first experimented with absentee voting on a large scale, as so many of the men who were eligible to vote were away from home fighting. During the 1864 presidential election—in which Republican incumbent President Abraham Lincoln defeated Democratic candidate George McClellan—Union soldiers voted in camps and field hospitals, under the supervision of clerks or state officials.
