NYC Charter Revision Commission

New Yoek City has formed a Charter Revision Commission, and now we have to work to get them to put Open Primaries on the Ballot, to allow Independents to vote in Primaries.

Independents are already showing up in force at Public Hearings. This week, more than Seventy People at a hearing in Long Island City. The Majority of the Testimony came from ordinary New Yorkers, Independent Voters, asking the Commission to place Open Primaries on the Ballot.

The Thirteen Commissioners heard how Independents were “Fed Up”, “Disheartened”, “Disgusted” and “damn angry” at Not being able to Vote in Taxpayer Funded Primaries.

It was obvious that Independents made an Impact on the Commission, and by the end of the night, it was impossible to ignore the Outpouring of Support for Open Primaries in NYC. If you were not able to be there, it’s not too late to add your Voice.

Please click here to Submit your Written Testimony to the Charter Revision Commission.

*The form on our website auto-populates with some pre-written testimony, so it only takes a few seconds to enter your information and hit "submit"! You can also edit that pre-written testimony if you'd like.

We've got some momentum, let’s keep it moving forward. Submit your Testimony today!
