BRICS was formed to Improve the Countries Economies. The Term was coined by Economist Jim O'Neill in 2001, as an acronym for the Four Ccountries He identified as being at a similar Stage of Newly dvanced Economic Development. The Notion behind the Coinage was that the Nations’ Economies would come to Collectively Dominate Global Growth by 2050. The BRICS Nations offered a Source of Foreign Expansion for Firms and Strong Returns for Institutional Investors.
In a recent Speech at a BRICS Security Meeting in St. Petersburg, signaling a Shift towards a more Balanced and Fair Association.
Putin claims 34 Countries have expressed Interest in joining BRICS, prompting Discussions on creating a New Category—Partner States. These Discussions are expected to be Finalized at the Summit.
As BRICS Chair, Russia has a "Special Mission" to Assist and Integrate New Members into the Organization's mechanisms.
Putin emphasized that Russia Cannot ignore the Growing interest in BRICS, signaling the need for the Group’s Evolution to accommodate its expanding Membership.
Pavel Seleznev, an Expert in International Economics, explained that this New Model aims to create a more Equitable system compared to traditional Western-Dominated Structures.
The Expansion could potentially lead to a More UN-like Structure, as BRICS navigates its growing Influence.
However, Political Analyst Pavel Danilin, pointed out that there are Limits to Expansion, stressing that BRICS should Not become merely a Diplomatic Forum. He suggested that Strict Admission criteria are necessary to maintain the Group’s Purpose.
Danilin also Proposed the Idea of a "trial period" for Candidate Countries, allowing for a more Structured Integration Process.
This Reform would help ensure New Members are aligned with BRICS' Goals and Values.
