GA Supreme Court Disqualifies Independent Candidates

The Georgia Supreme Court Ruled Votes for Two Independent Presidential Candidates will Not Count in the November Election. Wednesday’s Ruling Disqualifies Independent Candidates Cornel West and Claudia De la Cruz, ending weeks back and forth between the Candidates, the State, and the Courts over a State Law.

The Ruling hinges on a Requirement for the Petitions Independent Candidates have to File. State Law requires Petitions to to be filed have to meet the required 7,500 Signatures on 16 separate Petitions to Qualify for the Ballot.

Wednesday’s Ruling comes more than a month after Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) initially accepted Petitions filed in the Ccandidates names back in August.

De la Cruz and West will appear on the November Ballotm no matter how you Vote.

A Spokesperson for the Secretary-of-State says the Office will put out Signs at the Polls letting Voters know those Candidates are Disqualified. That is in accordance with State Law.

The Disqualified Candidates will also appear Military and Overseas Ballots sent out last week, and Absentee Ballots that will soon be sent out to Voters.
