From January 15th to May 21st, the GOP will hold Presidential Primary Elections or Caucuses, across the Country to choose a Candidate for the 2024 Presidential Election in November.
Primary Rules vary by State, with differing Eligibility Criteria and Processes, and Nevada is One that may cause particular Confusion, because it holds Two separate Votes, One run by the State and another a Party Caucus run by the GOP, with is the only Republican Vote, that is binding and will determine Delegates to the RNC Convention to Select Their Candidate for the General Election.
The State-Rrun Primary takes place on February 6th, with former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, former Vice President Mike Pence, and others Running.
The other, held by the Nevada Republican Party, takes place on February 8th and Voters will choose between Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and pastor Ryan Binkley.
So the RNC will have to decide, do the Votes from the State Party, will be used to determine Delegates to the RNC Convention, when determing their Presidential Cndidate.
The State has Two Ballots after the Republicans opted to hold their own Vote, so they could have Control over the Procedure. But a 2021 State Law says a Primary must also be held if more than One Candidate files.
The Democratic Party has opted to use the State-Run Primary for its Official Contest.
This Republican process of using a Caucus, is how they will handle those States that are able to keep Trump from the Primary Ballot.
But the Primary is Not where Trump gets Elected. So watch what will happen in State's General Elections. That is where the Supreme Court needs to decide this Issue.
