The Next Major Contest in the 2024 Presidential Race, will occur in South Carolina next month, where Candidates will again compete for the State's Delegates to secure the Nomination at their Conventions.
The Contest in South Carolina, will be an Open Primary. Voters can cast their Ballots in either the Democratic or Republican Races despite Party Affiliation, or being Independent.
Each State has a certain amount of Delegates. Some States give All their Delegates to the Winner, others Proportionally Award to Candidates, based on the amount of Votes they received. Each Candidate with the most Delegates, will then face off in a General Election, where a President is Selected.
This is the Election where the Supreme Court will decide if Trump will be on the Ballot, as the Primary or Caucus dosn't Elect a President.
But since a Caucus is a Party run Election, I am not sure if the Courts can stop a Candidate the Party puts on their Caucus Ballot.
Democratic Primary
First up is the Democratic Primary on February 3rd. where Voters will cast their Ballots for either Incumbent Joe Biden, House Representative Dean Phillips of Minnesota, who has been an outspoken Critic of Biden's age, or Author and Speaker Marianne Williamson, who Failed to Secure enough Delegates in the 2020 Primary.
Biden is expected to come out on Top, in the State as He did last year, garnering 39 Delegates compared to Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who gained 15 Delegates.
Biden is poised to Dominate the South Carolina Contes, given the Overwhelming support He received in New Hampshire, where He garnered 54.8% of the Vote, despite His Absence from the Ballot. Democrats organized a Write-In Campaign, imploring Voters to add Biden's Nme on the Bottom of theBallot.
Republican Primary
On February 24th, Republicans will vie for the Nomination. Voters have the Option of choosing Trump, who Dominated the Iowa Caucuses and the New Hampshire Primary, making His Prospects of becoming the GOP Nominee very likely, former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.
Two other Names will also appear on the Ballot: CEO and Co-Founder of Generational Equity Group Ryan Binkley, and former Special Operations Officer David Stuckenberg.
Haley has vowed to Stay in the Race, hoping Her Home State will give her the Momentum, Delegates, She needs to Secure the Nomination.
