PA Started Reviewing Provisional Ballots

Pennsylvania's Allegheny County Elections Officials, started reviewing the Provisional Ballots from last week’s Primary Election.

The County finished counting In-Person Votes Friday afternoon.

They are spending Monday going through more than 1,900 Provisional Ballots, that were cast at Polling Places on Election Day, to determine whether they should count.

As of 2 p.m., just a Dozen Provisional Ballots were Challenged Monday. Those Voters will be notified.

They'll also examine 218 Mail-in-Ballots that were either Not signed, Not dated, or both. Forty-two No-Date Ballots were from Republican Voters while 176 came from Democratic Voters.

There's a Court Battle brewing in the Republican Race for U.S. Senate, with many Provisional and Mail-in-Ballots still Not counted.

The Race between Mehmet Oz and Dave McCormick is still too close to call. Oz has a lead of more than 1,000 Votes, but that Margin could trigger a Recount once All the Votes are counted.

Both sides are arguing whether Undated Mail-in Ballots can Legally be Counted.

In a Ruling on Friday, a Three-Judge Panel ruled that Undated Mail-in-Ballots in a different Race in Lehigh County, should be Counted.

After that Ruling, the McCormick Campaign is now pushing for Undated Mail-in-Ballots, in the Senate Race to be Counted as well.

Pennsylvania Counties have until Tuesday, to submit their Unofficial Results. That will determine if an Automatic Recount is necessary.

Under State Law, that Recount would be Ordered on May 26th and must be completed by June 7th. An Automatic Recount will be triggered if the Winning Margin is within 0.5% or less.
