Still waiting for an Approved New York, redrawn by Court, Congressional Map, former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) is running for Congress.
Under the Court's First Map, De Blasio plans to run in the proposed Open 10th Congressional District, which includes Lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, he announced Friday morning.
"Wherever I go, people ask: can things get better? I say from my heart: YES, but WE have to make them better," he tweeted. "In our neighborhoods and our nation, the way to save our democracy is to be part of it."
"So as I declare my candidacy in #NY10 I ask you to join us," he added, sharing a link to his Campaign website.
De Blasio's announcement came just Two days, after he said he was forming an Exploratory Committee to run in the proposed Open District.
