For the most part, New York’s Voting Equipment meets the current High Standard in Election Security: Voter-Marked Paper Ballots, which are Counted by a Scanner.
However, Vendors have developed Hybrid “all in one” Voting Machines, which combine a Ballot Marking Device/Printer/Scanner into a single Device, which results in Higher Prices, and less Security of the Vote.
Vendors are now trying to expand their footprint in New York, by trying to get more of these Machines certified by the State Board of Elections (BOE).
Security Experts agree, if there was a Hack or Malfunction, Hybrid “all in one” Voting Machines could produce Unreliable Paper Ballots, and make a Post-Election Audit near impossible.
We know that the Companies that sSll these Unacceptable Machines, are trying to get them Approved in New York.
There is No time to Waste!
The Legislature needs to provide Clear Guidance, to Reject these types of Voting Machines, to the State BOE.
