A Ballot Printing Error in Oregon's Third-largest County, 5th Congressional District, Delays Results of a key Congressional Primary Race.
Blurry Barcodes on Ballots in Clackamas County, have stalled Vote Counting. Elections Workers were transferring the Votes, by hand, to New Ballots to Tally the Results, according to Reports.
The Majority of the Unreadable Ballots were Democratic Ballots.
“As Oregon’s chief election officer — and a Clackamas County voter — I am deeply concerned about the delay in reporting from Clackamas County Elections tonight,” Oregon Secretary of State, Shemia Fagan (D), said in a statement Tuesday night.
“While I am confident that the process they are following is secure, transparent and the results will be accurate, the county’s reporting delays tonight are unacceptable. Voters have done their jobs, and now it’s time for Clackamas County Elections to do theirs.”
The Primary Result expected to be most Delayed, is the Race between Incumbent Rep. Kurt Schrader (D) and Progressive Challenger Jamie McLeod-Skinner (D).
Local Races in Clackamas County have also been affected by the Printing Error.
Parts of Oregon's 5th and 6th Congressional Districts are in Clackamas County.
