PA's Luzerne County Mail-In Ballots Fail To Arrive For Special Election Day

A Special Election has hit a Major Roadblock in Luzerne County, PA, as Mail-In Ballots did Not arrive for Hundred of Voters on Tuesday, April 5th.

The Special Election is for a State Representative to fill the Seat of Tarah Toohil (R-116th District), who is now a County Judge.

305 People who Requested Mail-In Ballots have Not yet received them.

A Judge says those Ballots can still be Counted if they Arrive and are Postmarked by Friday, April 8th.

Luzerne County Officials blame the Department of State for the Mishap.

Several Members of the State Legislature are asking for more Information on why this happened.

Two files containing the 305 Ballots, 68 Absentee Ballots for Voters and 237 Mail-In Ballots, had been Incorrectly entered into the Election system by the Pennsylvania State Department, Luzerne County Board of Elections Chairwoman, Denise Williams said. The Files were Re-Uploaded, and the Ballots were sent to a Vendor for Processing and Mailing.
