This news story is very deceptive. Between October 17, 2020, and the new tally mentioned in the story, independent registration went up 3%, but Libertarian registration went up 5%. But the story doesn't even mention the Libertarian registration.

Furthermore, one reason the independent registration went up is that the State Board of Elections forcibly converted all the Green Party registrants, and all the Constitution Party registrants, to independents, without even asking them first.

Furthermore, the official latest tally still shows more Democrats than independents. The story admits this but says when the "temporary" voters are included, then the independents have more. But there is no data to support that, so far anyway.
