VA Supreme Court And Redistrictiong Commission

The Supreme Court of Virginia, Unanimously tells Republicans to pick Additional, more Neutral Redistricting Masters, after the State Commission failed to reach Agreement on Drawing Maps.

In Virginia, Congressional and State Legislative District Boundaries are set by a 16-Member Commission, comprising State Legislators and Non-Legislator Citizens.

The General Assembly must Vote to Approve the Maps without Amending them.

If the General Assembly Rejects the First Set of Draft Maps, the Commission must submit another.

If the General Assembly Rejects this Second Set of Draft Maps, the Virginia Supreme Court is tasked with Enacting New Maps.

Democrats had Proposed Cain, Grofman, or Persily, and Republicans had proposed Three Republican Political Operatives.

The Supreme Court of Virginia, has Struck the Three Republican Nominees for Special Master for Redistricting, for Violating Conflict-of-Interest Rules, and asked for New Names to be Submitted by November 15th.

The State Supreme Court told Republicans to Try Again.
