Biden's Picks For Top DOJ And Other Posts

President Biden announced Five Nnominees for Positions across Federal Agencies.

Biden Picked, North Carolina Attorney, Hampton Dellinger, 54, to Lead Justice Department (DOJ)’s Office of Legal Policy, a Unit that works with the White House to Research and Recruit Potential Judicial Nominees.

The Office also Supervises the Development of Regulations by DOJ and sometimes Functions as a Policy Think Tank, of sorts, for the Attorney General and Aides.

Dellinger served as Chief Legal Counsel to Gov. Mike Easley (D) and ran Unsuccessfully for the Democratic Nomination for Lieutenant Governor, in the Tar Heel State, in 2008. Dellinger started his own Law Firm, last year, after Seven years at Boies Schiller. In recent years, he has Rrepresented Women’s Soccer Players in a Battle over alleged Discriminatory treatment at the World Cup and Opponents of Confederate Memorials in a series of Legal Fights over efforts to Remove them.

After criticism that the New Administration was moving too Slowly to fill Top Justice Department Posts, Biden has picked up the pace recently. However, Nominees for two very Prominent Jobs, Solicitor General and Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust, have Not been announced yet.

Biden also announced:

- Plans to Promote the Acting Health and Human Services (HHS) Inspector General (IG), Christi Grimm, to serve as the Permanent IG for the sprawling Health Bureaucracy. Grimm, who has been with the Office for 22 years, has overseen efforts to Assess the Federal Government’s response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Problem of Unaccompanied Children arriving at the Border, and Health Care-related Fraud and Abuse.

- Biden has tapped, Laura Daniel-Davis, to be Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management (LMM) at the Interior Department (DOI).

- Biden has tapped, M. Camille Calimlim Touton, to be Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation, at the Interior Department (DOI).

- Biden has tapped, Xochitl Torres Small as Undersecretary of Rural Development, at the Agriculture Department (DOA).

All of the Positions are subject to Senate Confirmation.
