The Montana Great Outdoors Project

The Montana Great Outdoors Project is one of our Biggest yet. At 130,000 Acres, the Area is Massive, about Half the size of Grand Teton National Park.

Montanans cherish this 200 Square Mile Landscape of Deep Forests and 17 Crystal Blue Lakes for: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Berry Picking, and for Timber Jobs that sustain the Forests as well as the Local Economy.

But the Future of this Magnificent Landscape, and the People who rely on it, is in doubt.

The Trust for Public Land has Secured the Option to Purchase Tract 1, which is 32,000 acres of Land, and Tract 2, which is 98,000 acres, at a Highly Discounted Cost per acre.

Te Trust for Public Land works to Conserve One Million Acres of Pand, Protect 1,000 Miles of Rivers, and Connect or Build 1,000 Miles of Trails across America by 2025, Saving these 130,000 Montana Acres will be a big deal. But it’s not a Done Deal, and we only have One chance to make it happen.

The Trust has to act fast, because these Lands have sold Three times in the last Four years, and the Pandemic has brought Record Numbers of People from Urban Areas to this once-quiet corner of Montana. Flathead County has seen a 30% Increase in New Residents since March 2020.

The most Recent Sale has resulted in Different Owners for Tract 1 and Tract 2. They want to keep these Properties as Working Forests, allowing Public Recreation while Promoting Healthy Forests and Wildlife Habitat.

However, the only way they can Afford to Protect this much Land is with a Conservation Easement.

To show that we’re serious Buyers who will make The Montana Great Outdoors Project a Reality in 2021, we are asking everyone who are interested in The Trust for Public Land to make a Gift today.

This is Your Opportunity to Protect this Vast Montana landscape before it’s gone.
