Biden Wants Mexico to Accept Migrant Families Who Enter U.S.

President Biden, on Thursday, said he wants Mexico to Accept Back All Migrant Families arriving at the U.S.-Mexico Border.

In his First Press Conference, Biden outlined how the Administration is Only allowing Unaccompanied Minors arriving at the Border to seek Asylum and remain in the U.S. But his Message that All Migrant Families should be Expelled from the Country could ignite Legal Troubles. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has an ongoing Case challenging the Legality of Expelling Families that it put on hold, while it Negotiated with the Biden Administration. Now, it could be ready to Fight Back if Biden doesn’t Clarify what he said.

Thousands of Families, most of them hailing from Central America and Mexico, have Traveled to the U.S. Border in hopes of being allowed to Stay. Right now, the Majority of Families come from the Tent City in Mexico, which is now Empty and Dismantled. Many were Return to their Country of Origin.

For New Families: “We’re in negotiations with the President of Mexico. I think we’re going to see that change,” Biden said. “They should all be going back.”

In the Early Days in Office, the Biden Administration asked the ACLU to Negotiate with them and put on hold their Case arguing that the Expulsion of Families using Title 42, the Public Health Authority Trump Invoked at the Start of the Pandemic, is Unlawful. The ACLU initially Agreed to Negotiate for 28 days, but when that Expired this week, they Agreed to a 10 day Extension. But, unless the Administration Clarifies Biden’s Comments, the ACLU could be going back to Court at the End of the 10 days or even sooner.

During thePpress Conference, Biden repeatedly Defended his Administration’s Immigration Agenda and handling of the current situation at the Border amid growing Criticism from Republicans and some Democrats over the rising number of Migrants attempting to enter the U.S.

Countering a Common Charge by his GOP Critics, Biden specified that his moves to End certain Trump-era Policies was necessary and is Not what’s Influencing Migrants to come now. “I make no apologies for ending programs that did not exist before Trump became president that had an incredibly negative impact on the law, international law, as well as on human dignity,” Biden said.

Last week, Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, Warned that the U.S. is “on pace to encounter more individuals on the southwest border than we have in the last 20 years.” But Biden noted Thursday that the Majority of Migrants arriving at the Border are being almost immediately Kicked-Out.

One of the Biden Administration's Primary Challenges is Opening up more Space to Shelter Unaccompanied Children arriving at the Border. More than 5,000 Migrants are being held in Customs and Border Protection (CPB) Custody and Thousands more are in Shelters Run by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as they wait to be Matched with a Vetted Sponsor, according to Numbers from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and HHS.

The effort to Connect these children with Relatives or Sponsers is currently being done by Private Organizations. This Administration must take this over and Create Processes and Protections that the Children are going to Relatives or Verified Organizations.
