Judge Orders Trump's Tax Lawyers to Hand Over Trump Organization Documents to New York's Attorney General, Letitia James (D).
It's the latest step in a Probe into whether Trump Falsely Inflated the Value of his Assets for Loans and Deflated those Assets to Reduce his State Property Tax.
The Law Firm that previously worked for the Organization, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, had argued that the Documents were Protected by Attorney-Client Privilege. But as it concerned Trump's Business, not Legal Advice, Justice, Arthur Engoron, said that they weren't Protected by Attorney-Client Privilege.
"A lawyer's communication is not cloaked with privilege when the lawyer is hired for business or personal advice, or to do the work of a nonlawyer," Engoron said at the Hearing on Friday.
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius employs Trump's Longstanding Former Tax Counsel Sheri Dillon.
AG James is interested in New York and other State's Properties to determine where this type of Property Valuation Manipulation was happening.
James has already scored a Victory over the Trump Family. In November 2019, Trump Settled a Case for $2.5 Million. He and his Three Children were accused of Misusing Funds from the Trump Foundation for Personal Gain. The Case alleged that Trump had used the Charity's Assets to Impact the 2016 Primaries.
The Foundation was Dissolved, remaining Assets were Redistributed to other Charities, Trump can't start another New York Charity for 10 years, and the Kids One Year, and the Kids had to take a Class on being a Board Member and its Responsabilities.
