Stop Liquified Fracked Gas into NYC

The Stop the Williams Pipeline Coalition is Organized primarily by Five Local Groups:

- Food & Water Action
- Sane Energy Project
- 350Brooklyn
- New York Communities for Change
- Surfrider Foundation/NYC Chapter

Each Member of the Coalition works on a Range of Projects to Build a Better World.

Earlier this year, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) did the Right Thing and listened to Science and the People, and Rejected the William NESE Pipeline.

But National Grid is Refusing to Listen to Climate Science or to us, and is instead trying to Build Smaller, more Distributed Projects to bring Fracked Gas into NYC as their Plan B.

One of those Projects is to Expand their Greenpoint Liquified Fracked Gas Storage Facility on Newtown Creek and they've recently Applied to the DEC for an Air Permit to Build Two New Vaporizers there.

We know the Power of Submitting Public Comment and making our Voices Heard. Together the Coalition Submitted Thousands of Comments Against the Williams Pipeline and need to do that again to Stop National Grid's Fracked Gas Alternatives.

Liquified Fracked Gas is even Worse for the Climate than Regular Fracked Gas and to add insult to injury, National Grid wants to Raise the Monthly Bills to Pay for it.

When National Grid held Public Hearings on their Long-Term Capacity Report they made it clear that New Yorkers wouldn't Accept any Fracked Gas Alternatives to the Williams Pipeline.

We can't let the Health and Safety of North Brooklyn be Sacrificed for National Grid's Profits.

We Stopped the Williams Pipeline and we can Stop these Smaller Projects too.
