Still Counting in NY Close Congressional Race

Claudia Tenney (R) has maintained her lead in the last Undecided Congressional Race in the Country, but just barely, and much is yet to come in the race.

Tenney has a lead of 29 Votes in New York's 22nd Congressional District after Oneida County announced its completed its Re-Count. Oneida County finally finished up its review of about 1,800 Affidavit Ballots that were Not Included in the Initial Count.

That 29-vote Lead represents the end, nearly Two months later, of the Unofficial Vote Counting for the District, which contains All or Part of Eight Upstate New York Counties.

More than 318,000 Voters cast Ballots in the Race between Incumbent Anthony Brindisi (D-Utica) and Tenney from New Hartford.

But much is yet to come in the Race. About 400 to 500 Ballots will be sent to State Supreme Court Judge, Scott DelConte, who will Add them to a pile of Ballots from other Counties that are being Contested by either Candidate.

Beginning next week, DelConte will review the Candidates’ Challenges, often Ballot by Ballot, and then eventually make a Ruling on which ones count.

The Total current Unofficial Results across the 22nd District have Tenney with 155,862 Votes and Brindisi with 155,833.
