As of October 2020, there were Eight Recognized Ballot Qualifed Political Parties in New York: Democratic Party; Republican Party; Conservative Party; Green Party; Independence Party; Libertarian Party; SAM Party; and Working Families Party.
In 2020, the Legislature Changed the Party Qualifing Rules from 50,000 Votes for Governor, to 130,000 or 2% of the Vote, which ever is Higher, for President and Governor.
The 2020 Presidental Election, in New York, had 6,684,843 Total Votes, so to Qualify, a Party needs 133,697 Votes.
