Fossil Fuel Giant, NRG, wants to Build a 437-megawatt Fracked Gas Power Plant, in Astoria, Queens, New York, right Next to Communities already Suffering from Higher Asthma Rates because of Existing Fossil Fuel Pollution.
As the Fossil Fuel Industry always does, NRG is trying to Sell this Plant as a Cleaner step forward, but we know it’s just more Dirty Fracked Gas.
It will Contribute to Local Air Pollution and Climate Change, while Pushing real Renewable Energy Development further down the road.
The Astoria NRG Power Plant is still in the Approval Phase which means it can be Stopped!
And what does it take to Stop a Fracked Gas Power Plant? Community and a whole lot of Organizing.
