Delaware River Basin Commission to Vote on New Fossil Fuel Project Update

Plans are moving Forward on a New Fossil Fuel Project that would threaten local Communities, Public Health, Our Climate, the Environment, and Wildlife.

The Delaware River Basin Commission, whose Membership includes New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (D), will Decide the Future of this Project.

If given the Green Light, Hazardous Fracked Gas, from Pennsylvania, would be Transported more than 200 miles Overground through Residential Neighborhoods, which are Disproportionately Low-Income and Communities of Color, and then sent down the Delaware River on Huge Shipping Vessels for Sale Overseas.

This Proposal would mean up to 1,650 more Truck Trips and/or up to Two 100-Railcar Trains travelling through Pennsylvania and New Jersey Communities every day, worsening Air Pollution in the Region.

The Pollution caused by this Sudden Increase in Daily Truck and Train Transportation puts the Local Population at an Increased Risk of Serious Illness or Death. Air Pollution Aggravates Problems like Lung and Heart Disease, which may Weaken a Person's Ability to Survive COVID-19.

This Plan will also mean that Communities, and the Delaware River itself, will be at Risk of Explosions should anything go Wrong along this Many-Layered Journey.

This Dangerous Project would Jeopardize the Water Quality of the Delaware River. And it would also Threaten Endangered Species, like the Atlantic Sturgeon, and Vulnerable Habitats for Native Animals and Plants. And it would continue our Reliance on Fossil Fuels and Worsen the Climate Crisis.

CLICK HERE to tell Governor Cuomo, the Delaware River Basin Commission must Vote NO on this Fracked Gas Project on the Delaware River. It puts Local Communities, our Climate, the Environment, and Endangered Wildlife at Risk.

UPDATE
