WI People’s Maps Commission




Early this year, Wisconsin Governor, Tony Evers (D), announced the Official Application and Selection Processes for The People’s Maps Commission, the Nonpartisan Redistricting Commission to Redraw Wisconsin’s Electoral District Maps.

Governor Evers, announced the Commission during the State of the State Address, and later Signed Executive Order #66 to Create The People’s Maps Commission.

The Commission will have Nine Voting Members who will be Chosen by the Selection Panel, which includes Three Retired Judges.

The Commission will hold Public Hearings across the State to receive Input from Wisconsinites on Legislative Redistricting.

Once Data from the U.S. Census Bureau is Released, the Commission is responsible for Drafting a Set of Maps.

Following this Process, the Legislature will Select a Map created by The People’s Maps Commission or Draft their own Map.

Applications to serve as a Member of The People’s Maps Commission will be accepted until July 31st, 2020. More Information about the Commission and the Application is available HERE.
