New York City's 2020 Mailed-Ballots Rejection Rate, averaged around 25%, is by far the Highest Rate in the Country.
New Reformers, a Queens-based Progressive Group, released Numbers showing that almost a Quarter of Absentee Ballots cast in their Boroughs have been Rejected.
Other Election Attorneys said the Rejection Rates across the City ranged from about 20% in Manhattan, which has been much Slower than other Boroughs in Counting Ballots, to almost 30% in parts of Brooklyn.
There were 403,203 Ballots Mailed for the June 23rd Primary
Ballots have been tossed for Voter and Postal Errors like:
- Not Signing in all the Right Places.
- Signature that doesn't exactly Match Voter's Registration Signature on File.
- Reaching Election Officials too Late. In New York City, sometimes the Post Office will Not Postmark a Pre-Paid Envelope, and Ballots mailed on Election Day won't be Picked-Up until the Next Day.
- In New York City, Mailed Ballots Sealed with Tape are Rejected.
