Don't hold your breath waiting for Final Results in the Close Congressional and Legislature Assembly Primaries in New York.
Under State Law, Counting may begin Wednesday, July 2nd, but it could take several Days to Complete in some Counties.
Then there is New York City, where the Process of Counting Absentee Ballots won’t begin for another week, New York City Board of Elections Executive Director, Michael Ryan, announced at the end of a Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 1st, afternoon.
Staten Island will begin Counting on Monday, July 6th and the remaining Four Boroughs will start on July 8th, Ryan said.
The New York City Board, like its Equivalents throughout the State, has been Swamped with an Unprecedented Volume of Absentee Ballots and is currently working on Sorting through them.
Final Totals for the Number of Mailed-In Ballots should be Available later this week. Ryan said that “more than 10 times” the Number of such Ballots expected under Normal Circumstances had been sent out.
New York Reps. Eliot Engel (D-16th District) and Carolyn Maloney (D-12 District) have cruised to Reelection through most of their Decades in Congress.
Now, both must wait for those Mail-In Ballots to be Counted, to learn whether they will Serve another Term.
Voting in New York's Primary Election concluded June 23rd with the In-Person Democratic Congressional Results:
12th District:
- CAROLYN B. MALONEY 41.56 %
- SURAJ PATEL 39.93 %
16th District:
