CREW Gets Default Judgment Against Quorum-Less FEC

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) Gets Default Judgment Against Quorum-Less FEC, paving the way for Private Litigation against Campaign Finance Violators.

Following their Victory in Federal Court, in Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington vs. Federal Election Commission (FEC), in which CREW Sued the FEC for Failing to take Action on a Complaint against Dark Money Groups backing former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens’s Election Campaign which Hatched and Executed a Conduit Contribution Scheme in Violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act, CREW released the following Statement:

“This is a big win for those who believe in campaign finance regulations and the rule of law. You cannot gut the FEC and block enforcement from happening. The court has shown today that there are ways to hold lawbreakers accountable—even if the FEC fails to do so.”
