More than 4 Million Texans Voted in the 2020 Presidential Primary Election, with Turnout among Democratic Voters just barely Surpassing Republican Turnout. There are 16,211,198 Registered Voters, only 4,084,431 Voted in the Presidential Primary, or just 25.2%.
Texas uses an Open Primary system, meaning Voters can Decide at the Polls whether they want to Vote in the Democratic or Republican Contest.
With All Polling Places Tallied, Democrats had cast 2,076,046 Votes and Republicans cast 2,008,385 Votes, in the Presidential Contest.
Overall, a Small Majority of Votes, 2,071,745 came during Early Voting, and 2,012,686 were Cast on Election day, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s Office.
Turnout for Both Parties was around the Same for the Presidential Contest in the 2020 Primary. Though more Republican Votes had come in during Early Voting, the Overall Democratic Vote Total was Higher than the Republican Total by Less than a Percentage Point after Election day.
These Vote Tallies remain Unofficial. County Election Officials are still Processing Mail-In Ballots that were Postmarked by Election day and Working through which Provisional Ballots will be Counted.

Joseph Biden, Jr. - 716,030 Votes, 34.5%, 111 Delegates
Bernard Sanders - 622,360 Votes, 30.0%, 102, Delegates
Michael Bloomberg - 298,262 Votes, 14.4%, 10 Delegates
Elizabeth Warren - 237,028 Votes, 11.4%, 5 Delegates
Peter Buttigieg - 82,221 Votes, 4.0%, 0 Delegates
Total Votes - 1,955,901 with 228 Delegates Awarded
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced any Future Votes for Suspended Candidates will be recorded as Uncommitted.
Republican as of March 5th
Donald Trump - 1,889,006 Votes, 94.1%, 117 Delegates
Uncommitted (Suspended Candidates) - 71,555 Votes, 3.6% - 0 Delegates
Bill Weld - 15,738 Votes, 0.8% - 0 Delegates
Joe Walsh - 14,769 Votes, 0.7% - 0 Delegates
Roque De La Fuente - 7,668 Votes, 0.4% - 0 Delegates
Bob Ely - 3,565 Votes, 0.2%, 0 Delegates
Total Votes - 2,002,301 Votes with 117 Delegates Awarded of 155 Available
