Bloomberg Rises to Third Place Tied with Warren in National Poll

Former New York City Three-Term Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, saw a 6-point Bump in the latest Hill.TV Survey of the Democratic Presidential Primary.

The Nationwide Poll, which was released Friday, shows Bloomberg up from 5% to 11% Support for the Nomination Nationally.

Bloomberg is now in a Dead Heat for Third Place with Top-Tier Candidate, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Former VP Joe Biden, meanwhile, continues to Lead the Democratic Field with 28% followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) at 16%.

Former South Bend, IN, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, saw another Slight Dip, after slipping 4 Percentage Points in Mid-December. In the latest survey, he now has 6% Support.

Bloomberg's Rise in the Latest Hill-HarrisX Survey comes in spite of his Late Entry into the 2020 Race and the Fact that he hasn't Appeared in any of the Democratic Primary Debates.

Bloomberg has chosen an Unorthodox Campaign Strategy, making the Decision Not to Raise Money and instead deciding to Fund his Own Campaign. This has Disqualified him from taking the Debate Stage under Rules from the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

However, prior to Announcing his Bid in November, Bloomberg Launched an Ad Buy totaling roughly $19.4 Million over 90 Local Markets across the Country. After making his Campaign Official, he also rolled out a 60-Second Spot as part of his $31.5 Million Media Blitz.

Bloomberg's Multimillion-Dollar Ad Expenditure has made him a Prime Target for his Fellow Rivals.

After the Multimillion-Dollar Rollout, Warren accused the Bloomberg of trying to Buy the November Election. "I don't believe that elections ought to be for sale," Warren said on the Bloomberg's own Network, Bloomberg TV. "And I don't think as a Democratic Party that we should say that the only way you're going to get elected, the only way you're going to be our nominee, is either if you are a billionaire or if you're sucking up to billionaires."

Warren, meanwhile, appears to be Losing some Momentum after Challenging Biden's Front-Runner Status as recently as October.

The RealClearAverage of Iowa Polls shows Warren in Fourth Place at 16% Support behind Biden's 19%. Buttigieg continues to Lead in the Early Primary State with 22%, with Sanders Trailing at 20%.

4th Quarter Democratic Primary Race Fundraising:

Sanders - $34.5 Million

Buttigieg - $24.7 Million

Biden - $22.7 Million

Warren - $21.2 Million

Yang - $16.5 Million

Klobuchar - 11.4 Million

Booker - 6.6 Million

The Hill-HarrisX Survey Polled 1,004 Respondents across the Country between Dec. 27th and 28th. It has a Margin of Error of Plus or Minus 3.1 Percentage Points.

According to the Data procured by Advertising Analytics, which breaks down the spending even further, Bloomberg spent nearly $6 million on YTV Ads in both the Los Angeles and New York City Markets, $4 Million in Houston, $3.8 Million in Dallas/Ft. Worth, $3.6 Million in San Francisco, $3.5 Million in Miami, more than $2.6 Million in Chicago, and Orlando, $2.4 Million in Seattle/Tacoma, $2.2 Million in District of Columbia, and about $2 Million each in Philadelphia, Boston, and Tampa.

The Total is a Whopping $135 million in TV and Digital Ads alone and he hasn’t even participated in a Debate yet.
