Oklahoma's Republican and Libertarian Parties will bar Independent Voters from Casting Ballots in their 2020 Primary Elections.
Independent Voters will be able to Vote in Oklahoma Democratic Party Primaries next year, State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax Announced Monday.
“This means, there is no change for unaffiliated voters in 2020," he said in a News Release. "As has been the case for the past two years, Independent voters may continue to vote in Democratic Party primaries, but not in Republican or Libertarian primaries."
Oklahoma Democrats first Opened their Primaries to Independent Voters in 2015 in an attempt to make their Elections more Inclusive.
As of January 2019, Oklahoma had:
Registered Republicans = 1,008,775
Registered Democrats = 777,770
Registered Libertarian = 9,274
Registered Independents = 331,078
Total Registered Voters = 2,126,897
Oklahoma is a Closed Primary State, which means Only Voters Affiliated with a Recognized Political Party may cast a Ballot in that Party's Primary Elections.
State Law, however, gives Parties the Option to Open their Primaries to Independent Voters by Notifying the State Election Board each year.
You can Register to Vote if you are a Citizen of the U.S., a Resident of the State of Oklahoma, and at least 18 years old or Meet the Age Requirement to Pre-Register.
You may Not Change your Political Affiliation during the Period from April 1st through August 31st, inclusive, in any Even-Numbered year.
The Last day on which you may Change your Political Affiliation before the Closed Period is March 31st.
The First day on which you may Change your Political Affiliation after the Closed Period is September 1st.

Oklahoma's Presidential Primaries will occur on March 3rd, 2020.
